Building Permit Project Types

Per the CBC (California Building Code) - No building or structure regulated by this code shall be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a separate permit for each building or structure has first been obtained from the building official.

Our most common project types are listed below. Expand the project type to retrieve the checklist needed to complete your plan review. All plans must comply with electronic drawings and document submittal standards (PDF) or they will delay processing.

Contact us, if you do not see your project type and we can confirm if a building permit is required.

Please Note: Projects in the floodplain or floodway and those projects requiring additional permits from Planning or Environmental Management do not qualify for express review.
